Life in Christ Ministries
Statement of Faith
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, Inerrant in the original writings and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16; Matthew 5:18, John 10:35; 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe in one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7), eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Genesis 1:26).
We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26, 2:7); that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature (Genesis 2:16-17; 3:1-19; Psalm 14:1-3; Romans 3:23; 5:10-12; 6:23; John 3:36).We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-35), that He lived a perfect and sinless life, and that He is true God and true man (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5-8).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures (Romans 5:8; Isaiah 53:3-7), as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and all that truly repent of their sins and believe in Him are justified by grace, and redeemed by His blood shed on the cross (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 1:9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 2:24).
We believe in the present ministry
of the Holy Spirit as one who convicts unbelievers of their sin, and
by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a godly life (John
14:16-17; 15:26; John 16:7-9; Acts
1:5; Romans 8:9; 2
Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14).
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into heaven and in His present existence there for us, as High Priest and Advocate (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:38-39; Acts 2:30-31; Romans 4:25; 8:34; Hebrews 7:25-27; 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2).
We believe in the blessed hope, the
personal, bodily return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (1
Thessalonians 4:15-5:11; Titus 2:13), and that all those who put
their trust in Him will be taken to heaven to live with Him and to
glorify His Name for all eternity (John 14:1-3; Revelation 21:1-8).
