End of Summer Report
Dear Friends and Family,
Heres an update on the many things God has done here over the last
several
months. We praise and thank Him and remember that it is His work.
Lives Changed for Eternity
The best news is that at least two more people have come to know the
Lord as
their Savior since our last update. One woman from Morelos, Mexico
accepted
the Lord during one of our services in May. She has a teenage
daughter who is
also a new believer, two younger daughters, and a teenage son who is
still not
a Christian.
The other one is a man in his forties, from Michoacn, Mexico; who
asked the
Lord into his life last month. This was a huge answer to over a
years worth of
prayer for him and his family. His wife and their three teenagers
have still
not made a profession of faith; please continue to pray for their
salvation.
Baptisms
We were encouraged to baptize six people in August: Alfredo, his
wife Sandra,
their oldest daughter Makayla, Agustina, Jos, and Isabel. Other new
believers
have also expressed a desire to be baptized soon. We thank the Lord
for the
continued growth among the new believers in our fellowship
Door to door ministry
The Lord has opened a huge door of opportunity here in the Hispanic
community.
Recently we have begun more door to door ministry and have found the
Spanish-
speaking people generally more receptive to this. Just last week we
had two
new families come to our services as a result of this ministry.
There are so
many opportunities to proclaim the love of Christ and nearly
everyday we are
meeting people who have never before heard the biblical gospel
message.
Other news from the summer
(VBS, Spanish Bible Institute, CD & Internet sermon ministry.)
By Gods grace we held our first bilingual Vacation Bible School in
the
beginning of August and were blessed with a great group of kids and
helpers.
We have also begun a Spanish Bible Institute here in Hoquiam using
courses
from Emmaus Correspondence School. In June, we began recording our
Sunday
messages which has lead to a CD and internet sermon ministry. We
hope that
this will further our outreach here in the community, as well as
provide
encouragement for those from our fellowship who move onto other
areas or
return home to Latin America. If you or someone you know would
appreciate
verse-by-verse Bible teaching in Spanish, please visit our website.
Prayer requests
We are praying about starting two more Bible studies this fall in
Aberdeen
(the city located next to Hoquiam). Please pray for wisdom,
direction, and
strength to do all that the Lord is calling us to do.
There is so much need here. If only we had more time in a day! Pray
that God
will raise up more workers to help in this mission field. We are
especially
praying for another like-minded couple who could work alongside of
us in this
ministry. We continue to disciple the new believers here, and are
encouraged
with their participation and desire to serve the Lord, but this is a
process
that takes time. Please pray for them that they will be strengthened
in their
inner being and rooted and established in the love of Christ
(Ephesians 3:14-
21).
Please pray for our marriage and family; that we will be protected
from the
attacks of the enemy, and that we will have wisdom in managing our
time. Pray
also for the Lords continued provision for our family and for the
ministry.
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers, encouragement, and
interest.
May you walk in the blessings that are yours in Christ and
experience His love
which surpasses knowledge.
Love in the Lord Jesus,
Nathan and Julissa, (Eva 2 and Benjamin 6 months)

Update from April 24, 2009
Dear friends and family,
God is faithful! We have been blessed to experience His faithfulness in many remarkable ways in these past months, in spite of all that is going on in the world today. We have seen prayers answered, lives changed, families brought back together, and more and more people, both young and old, gathering with a hunger for the Word of God. This is what happens when believers faithfully and humbly come before the Almighty God in prayer, for although it is His work, He has given to each of us the privilege of being the instruments by which it is accomplished. With that said, thank you to all of you who have prayed for the ministry here in Grays Harbor, and for those of you who haven’t prayed, may the following encourage you to do so.
Praise the Lord that the number of people coming to our Sunday evening service has continued to grow and that most of them are now believers. On Easter Sunday, nearly 40 people from the community came and heard, maybe some for the first time, the true meaning of Christ’s death and resurrection.
We also appreciate your prayers for the various Bible studies going on during the week. On Thursday mornings, Julissa leads a women’s Bible Study in English. She also meets individually once a week with two new believers from our fellowship. I am amazed and grateful to the Lord for all of the opportunities He gives us. Over the last few months I’ve been able to regularly meet with and disciple about seven or eight guys, and recently several of us began meeting together on Tuesday nights for Bible Study and prayer.
We are encouraged with the spiritual growth of many of the new believers, and greatly appreciate your prayers for them. Also pray that the Lord will continue to give us opportunities to share the message of His love and forgiveness with new families in the community that still do not know Him.
There’s a lot more that could be said, but we appreciate you taking the time to read this and pray that the Lord would use this letter to encourage you in your walk with Him. Thank you again for your prayers and support, and may our gracious God and loving Father bless you and guide you in His ways.
With love in the Lord Jesus,
Nathan and Julissa Cedarland, plus Eva (21 months) and Benjamin (1 month)

Update from January 3, 2009
Dear Friends and Family,
We would like to wish you all a happy new year, and also update you on the Lord's work here in Grays Harbor. We have had a very encouraging month and want to share just a few highlights from our recent outreach. Thank you so much to all of you who have prayed both for us and for the people mentioned in our letter from a few weeks ago.
Praise God and thank Him that…
- In spite of the snow storm over 50 people came to the Christmas outreach on the 20th!
- One of the unsaved people mentioned in the last e-mail accepted the Lord as his Savior at the outreach, a 22 year old man from El Salvador, Thank you to all who prayed for Him!
- People from 5 different countries (Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and the U.S.) came to the outreach and heard the Gospel in their own language!
- He is opening up more doors for us everyday to minister to more people in the Hispanic community. The fields are ripe for harvest!
Please continue praying for the people on the list we sent in our last e-mail. Also pray that God will give us wisdom to minister to these people and make the most of every opportunity. Through prayer you can play a vital part in this ministry and experience the awesome blessing of being used to bring others to Him.
Love in the Lord Jesus,
Nathan and Julissa Cedarland

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It has been sometime since we last wrote to you about the Lord’s work among the Spanish-speaking people here in Grays Harbor, Washington, and many of you have asked for an update. We are thankful for all of you who keep us in your prayers; you play a key role in this ministry. As the Word of God says “Call unto me and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things that you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3). We know that if we ask anything in His name (anything that is in accordance with His character and will) He will do it (John 14:13-14). We know that He is a God who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4), and so when we pray that He will reach souls, and we are faithful to share His word, should we be surprised to see Him answering our prayers?
It has been especially encouraging to see several individuals receive the Lord Jesus as their Savior this year and to watch them grow in their walk with Him. We have had a number of challenges and discouragements as well, but what a blessing it is to serve the One who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. Please read on to learn of the great things God has been accomplishing here, as well as how you can pray for this ministry.
Since we began our Sunday evening service and Bible study in October of last year we have had the privilege of ministering to many families and individuals. One of the most difficult things that we have learned about working with Latinos here in the U.S. is that they are primarily a migrant community, so they are frequently on the move going from one city or state to the next, searching for better opportunities. This means that we often have only a small window of time to share Christ with them before they move on. It was very sad earlier this year when we lost a family who had been attending for about six months and neither of the parents had made any clear profession to have received the Lord as their personal Savior. However, their nine year old daughter Jessica did pray to ask the Lord Jesus into her heart one evening when Julissa and I explained the gospel to her. So we can rejoice that at least one family member is now saved and that God is faithful to continue working in their hearts, and to bring others across their path that can water the seed that has been planted. Please pray for them: Zenaydo, Josefa, and their three children. Another couple, Clemente and Camila who are believers will also be leaving with their children to return to their home in central Mexico this September. Pray that they will be able to find good Christian fellowship there.
Among the families and individuals that have been attending there is a wide range of backgrounds and varied needs. Please pray that God would give us His wisdom as we shepherd and disciple the many new believers here, that they may grow and begin to disciple others. There are also a number of families that we are meeting with that are still not saved, please pray that we would continue to have opportunities to reach out to them and that God’s grace would be at work in their hearts.
We are grateful that the Lord has continued to bring people across our path here, and we appreciate all your prayers for us. May our gracious God and loving Father bless and guide you today and each day.
Love in Christ Jesus,
Nathan, Julissa, Eva, and baby #2
P.S. We also appreciate your prayers for Julissa’s pregnancy that it would go more smoothly than last time, and that both mom and baby would stay healthy.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we
ask or think.”
